Which village do you live in? How long have you lived here? Bodicote
- 9 years, Business owner of Beat Gym at The Hatchery a year since February 2025.
Where did you move from, and what brought you here? The Middle East, my partner's job brought us this way.
What do you like best about living here? The countryside.
A potted history of yourself in 40 words or less: 1 grew up in Cambridge, a keen sportsperson, moved to the Middle East, met my wife and had three children. Returning home, I opened Beat Fitness and Base at Beat to build a thriving community.
How do others see you in five words? Driven, friendly, committed, energetic, supportive.
What do others find most annoying about you? My business partner would say the early morning onslaught of messages, business ideas and anything else I can throw at him. Others may say something different.
Early bird or night owl? Cat or dog? Early bird. Dog.
Optimist or pessimist? Fast-paced or relaxed? Optimist. Fast-paced.
What was the best thing about your childhood? Playing sports every single day with the support of my grandfather.
What is the best aspect of being an adult? Playing with my 3 children and seeing them grow.
What did you want to be when you grew up? A footballer.
What was your first job? And your current job? First job was a Gym Fitness Instructor. I'm now a business owner of Beat Fitness (gym and recovery space) at the Hatchery.
Tell us about your hobbies: Anything my 3 children like to do - looking after myself, keeping fit and football.
What is your best loved book & your favourite author? Book - 'Extreme ownership' as it changed the way I look at business, leadership and life in general.
Who would you most like to have dinner with? My Grandad, we have so much to catch up on in 17 years.
Who do you most admire and why? My wife - her drive, her commitment and her way with our children.
What law would you pass if you could? A law that encourages healthier lifestyles, making fitness, nutrition and mental well-being more accessible to all.
If you could ban one thing, what would it be? Smoking completely.
What makes you feel grumpy/angry? Mess and lack of order.
What makes you happiest in the world? My children.
Something surprising that you excel at? The 1% club TV quiz show.
What is your favourite saying or piece of advice? You don't have to have it all figured out, but take that first step and work on it daily.
